Here are three ways to reduce the risk of diabetes*
Set Up the Home for Relaxation – Stress can be a contributing factor to diabetes symptoms. A great way to reduce stress is to add a hot tub to the yard to create a relaxing atmosphere. Get Moving – Getting plenty of exercise is a key element in diabetes prevention and also management of the disease. Exercise is effective for diabetes prevention as it helps with weight maintenance as well as reducing glucose in the blood stream, which decreases the need for insulin.
Eat Right – Exercise can go a long way, but in the case of Type II diabetes, good eating habits go hand-in-hand with exercise to fight the effects and prevent it from getting a foothold. Cut down on foods with added sugars, and foods that convert quickly to sugar such as simple carbohydrates like breads, pastas and even starchy vegetables. Reduce the amounts of fruit juices as they often have a high concentration of sugar.
