Resolutions for a New Year

Well…it’s New Year’s Eve. 2013 is just around the corner knocking on the door, and it’s time for that dreaded of traditions: making resolutions for the coming year!

Here’s some interesting info regarding resolutions: It is estimated that 45% of Americans make New Year’s resolutions, but only 8% are successful in achieving them. BUT, here’s some good news: people who explicitly make New Year’s resolutions are more likely to attain their goals than people who don’t! (There’s a silver lining anywhere if you just look.)

What are the top resolutions most make every year? In 2012, they were:

  1. Losing weight
  2. Getting organized
  3. Spend less & save more
  4. Enjoy life to the fullest
  5. Staying fit & healthy
  6. Learn something exciting
  7. Quit smoking
  8. Help others with their dreams
  9. Fall in love
  10. Spend more time with family

Out of that list, did you know that items 1, 4, 5, 7 & 10 are all items that a hot tub, sauna or swim spa can help you realize? That’s half the list! Sauna use has been shown to help burn calories and lose water weight (#1). Using a hot tub, sauna or swim spa on a regular basis will help you stay healthy and fit (#5). Regular sauna use can help detoxify your body of the toxins that will build up in your system from smoking; using a hot tub, sauna or swim spa regularly will help reduce stress that could make quitting smoking rougher (#7). It’s easy to gather together and spend more time with your family around a hot tub or swim spa, and a sauna is a great way to reconnect with a loved one (#10). And, owning any of our products will help you live life to the fullest (#4).

We’re certainly not going to coax anyone into making a New Year’s resolution you won’t keep…but, wouldn’t it be great to get together with someone special and make your resolutions together tonight in the peace & quiet of your hot tub or sauna? (There are certainly worse ways to ring in the New Year!)

Oregon Hot Tub’s wish for you in 2013 is a life full of new adventure, happiness and the rewards of better health. We hope to help you achieve those very things!

Happy New Year!
